Calendula and Plantain Salve

You will need
Beeswax (1-2 ounces)
Plantain oil
Calendula oil
Essentail oil (optional)

Gather all your ingredients and cut the beeswax into smaller pieces if you have a block of it.  Put the wax into a smaller saucepan (one that you won't mind getting wax caked to it) and get a bigger saucepan and fill it with water.  Set the heat on the stove to med high and get your water boiling.  Once it started to boil you will set the pan with wax right on top of the boiling water and now you have a double boiler.

You will then add about 2 tablespoons of your calendula oil and plantain oil, stir wax and oil together until wax is fully melted.  Then you will want to check the consistency of your slave so what you will do is take a teaspoon of the wax and oil salve mixture and put it in a little dish then set it in the freezer for about 2 minutes.  Remove and push your finger into it and see if it's the way you like your salve, if it's too hard add more oil, if it's too soft add more wax.  Repeat that until you have the desired consistency you want.

Once you get the mixture just right to your liking then you will add the essential oil pick one that you like but if you have skin irritation I recommend using one with antiseptic properties in it so it won't irritate your skin.  I myself used dragons blood because I love the smell.

You will then remove the mixture from the double boiler and pour it into your jars or tins you plan to use to store your salve in.

Your done, that's it.  You will let it sit for about an hour to cool completely.  Keep in mind you don't have to use Calendula or Plantain.  You can use any infused oil you like to make your a salve that suits your skin needs.  I chose those two oils because of the properties in them are good for so many skin ailments.  Feel free to mix it up and use whatever infused oils you want.

Homemade Stain Remover

Earlier today I tried yet another recipe for stain remover and it worked so well I had to share the recipe with you. Simple and easy.

Stain Remover:
2/3 cup dish liquid
2/3 cup ammonia
6 tbsp baking soda
2 cups warm water
20 drops Essential oil (optional, but recommended)

*Try using a dish liquid with a really nice smell because of the ammonia being so strong if you use dish liquid with a floral or fruit scent it will take away some of the ammonia smell, I used lavender and tea tree essential oil too)

Mix all together and pour into a spray bottle. THAT'S IT!!

You can use this on carpet/clothes/toilets/sinks/bathtubs/etc.....I was shocked at how well it worked out on my horribly stained carpet.  Next time I use it which will likely be tomorrow as I have 2 young boys that love to spit juice all over because to them it is funny lol, I will take before and after pictures.  If you want it to be a little more potent and get those soaked in stains out you can add about 6 tbsp of borax to the mix as well.  Please let me know if you tried it and how well it worked for you.
